What exactly is classical music?

Explore the answers to present-day questions such as
  • What exactly is classical music?
  • Why do only some people like classical music?
  • Will I like, enjoy and understand it?
  • Are we going to eventually see the demise of live classical music concerts? (Answer: no!)
  • Why do classical music concerts have to be so long and stuffy and inaccessible?
And so many more.

Unveiled by British-American Conductor-Composer Stephen P Brown, who has been performing on four continents for over 35 years, this free presentation will give you techniques and the confidence to help connect folk in your local communities with live classical music, and together we will help build a better society.

You will also learn
  • What you should do before attending a concert
  • That what you already know is unique
  • How to share your passion with others
  • How classical music changes lives for the better
  • That our own expectations might be a problem!

Space is limited. Please register early.

Light refreshments will be available, as will time for a little networking if you wish.

Stephen P Brown has been a faculty member of the Patel Conservatory since 2011.
