Connecting communities

The Pinellas Festival of Community Bands is one of many DMS highlights in the calendar year, as it totally encompasses the mission of the Dunedin Music Society: Connecting local communities with live music.

The performers all love what they do (the definition of "amateur") and can't wait to share their music with audiences! With ensembles from all over including Hillsborough, Martin, Pasco, Pinellas, and Sumter counties bringing buses of live music fans, this event draws out the locals, too.

Festivals are held throughout Pinellas County and in its first six years appeared in Dunedin, Oldsmar, Pinellas Park, and St. Petersburg, with plans to appear in Clearwater, Largo, Seminole and Tarpon Springs in the coming years.

In 2020, the DMS moved the festival online and hosted three "Virtual Band Festivals" with ensembles appearing from all over the world and almost 13,000 live viewers on social media and our website. In 2022, our largest festival yet, nine bands performed for almost 2,000 attendees throughout the afternoon.

You won't want your friends and neighbors to miss out on an afternoon of fun, merriment, music, and FOOD TRUCKS!
